In some cases the visas are valid from the date of issue. For instance, Kenyan visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. That means that you can enter and exit Kenya any time within these 3 months. So if the dates of your trip change slightly but are still within this 3 months window, no changes to the visa will be required. Other visas are only valid on the dates specified. For instance, Vietnamese visas can be valid for 30 days and you have to request the dates in advance. If for example the visa is valid from the 1st to the 30th of October, you will be able to enter Vietnam on or after the 1st of October and will have to leave before or on the 30th of October. So once again, if the dates of your trip change slightly but are still within this 30 days window, no changes to the visa will be required.

However, if the changes will mean that your stay will be outside of that previously selected window, you will have to apply for a completely new visa as no changes to the visa are allowed once it’s been issued.

If the visa hasn’t been applied for yet, it’ll be possible to amend the dates on your application form and get a visa valid on the dates you require.
